Capturing once in a lifetime moments is one of my favorite parts of being a Chattanooga Birth Photographer. Photographing Turner Alan’s Delivery was nothing short of a beautiful experience. The love between Jerilyn & Jeff was so moving.
Jeff really showed up as not only an amazing husband but an even more amazing father. He never left Jerilyn’s side as she steadily went through labor. As her contractions grew, so did Jeff’s concern for his beautiful wife. He stayed by her side, loving on her, holding her hands and consistently asking if there was anything he could do for her.
Another aspect of photographing baby deliveries is capturing the soon to be grandparents. Jerilyn’s parents, as well as Jeff’s parents were there patiently waiting on their new grandson to make his appearance. There are a few photos that really stand out to me from this day. Naturally, Jerilyn’s mother was there by her side but it was when Jeff’s mother went to Jerilyn that really moved me. As she gently spoke with her while caressing her hair, it really showed that Jerilyn, is loved so deeply by her mother-in-law.
There are also two other beautiful photos that I adore. While Jerilyn is having harder contractions, Jeff is there by her side. Although it may be difficult to tell from the image, Jerilyn is gracefully having a contraction. Her face is poised and beautiful and Jeff is seen in the background, lovingly watching over his wife.
Once Turner Alan arrived, Jeff was there to help deliver him… literally! Midwife Meg Brasel took her through delivery and delivered Turner, but it was Jeff that took him and placed him on Jerilyn’s chest. It was one of the coolest moments I had seen while photographing a delivery!
In case you missed it, Jerilyn and Jeff’s Maternity Session is blogged!
